JobLink is designed to connect employers and job seekers (16 - 21 years of age) by integrating people with services of various agencies. This workforce initiative is supported by human service agencies available in Mecklenburg County.
JobLink Career Centers are user friendly facilities which provides job seekers,
training seekers and employers access to a variety of employment and training
services all under one roof. Access to a variety of employment and training
services at one convenient location includes:
  • Computer/Internet
  • Fax
  • Phones
  • Resume Writing
  • Career Development Material
Local workforce development professionals from various partner agencies work together to provide the best service for all customers. JobLink Career Center offer a more convenient, efficient and effective way for all North Carolinians to look for a new or better job. Dislocated worker program services are delivered through the JobLink Career Center system. The Workforce Development Boards role in regards to JobLink is to:
  • Determine overall performance goals for JobLink Centers
  • Develop selection criteria and select JobLink Operators
  • Select sites for JobLink Centers in the region
  • Develop standards and charter centers based on centers business plans (chartering criteria is established by the State)
  • Hold centers accountable; and, re-charter over time
